Women Under Siege Article

I have been working on the story of the Maranao, or the People of the Lake, for the past for years. They have been displaced by war since the Marawi Siege of 2017. The government has taken over their ancestral land and the indigenous people of the region have not been allowed to return to their homes.

This is part of my long-term project which includes a documentary film and article to follow their ongoing plight and mainly focused on the life of Bae Anisah Guro, an educator who was born in Marawi.
